Camping and Touring

Campsite and caravanning, Ullswater, Pooley Bridge, Lake Ullswater,Camping Lake District . Cumbria

We have two fields for camping within the main park area. One of the fields is situated below the shop and contains the electric hook ups, which for booking purposes we call the "Shop Field", whilst the other is situated below the club and accommodates tents and motor homes which we call the "Main Field". A stream runs through this field, and is very popular with families. We also have a Camping field beside the Lake giving a picturesque setting for those long hot summer nights , we call this "Aikbeck Field". There are toilet and shower facilities in this field.

PLEASE NOTE - Campfires are not allowed, but BBQ'S are, provided that they are raised off the ground.

Bringing your Tent

In welcoming specifically "family campers & couples" to Park Foot it follows that there are some campers that we are unable to accept. We realise that different people have different holiday requirements and simply acknowledge that we cannot be "all things to all people" without compromising the service that we offer. We therefore do not accept single-sex groups and non family bookings.

Schools and organised groups are welcome and must be booked in advance.

At the owner's discretion parties may be asked to pay a noise deposit of £10 per person on arrival in cash. Out of consideration for those with young families, we ask that there is no noise please after midnight

Touring

Electric Hook up pitches (max 10 amps) are available on gravel or hard standing to accommodate touring caravans, tents and motor homes. These must be booked in advanced. Car parking is next to your pitch. There are also drinking water taps placed conveniently around the site and modern facilities provided. This area requires a digital signal for TV.

BARTON LODGE & PARK LODGE: (Sat - Sat) Three Bedroomed Situated above Aikbeck and Elderbeck Lodges, with lake views. Two, three bedroomed lodges each accommodating six people. One bedroom has a double bed with en- suite and the other two have twin beds, shower/bath with WC and basin. They are non-smoking. Pets allowed.

CHERRY & REDWOOD LOG CABINS: (Sat - Sat) Two Bedroomed Situated near the Farmhouse. Two log cabins, each accommodating up to six people. One bedroom has a double bed; the other bedroom has twin beds. There is a sofa bed in the living area for the fifth and sixth persons, bathroom with shower/bath WC and basin. They are non-smoking. Pets allowed.

AIKBECK & ELDERBECK LODGES: (Fri - Fri) Three Bedroomed New for 2012. Situated above the stream named "Aikbeck" accommodating up to six people. Two three bedroomed Lodges. One bedroom has a double bed with en-suite and the other two bedrooms have twin beds. Bedrooms and bathrooms are on the ground floor. Upstairs to the open plan living, dining, and kitchen with balcony overlooking the Lake. Sorry no pets and no smoking. The above property has washer/dryer, gas cooker, central heating, and barbeques, and are available all year round.

They are fully equipped with crockery and cooking utensils, pillows and duvets, linen included in hire terms. PLEASE SUPPLY YOUR OWN TOWELS. Kitchens have electric cooker, fridge, microwave, dishwasher, toaster and kettle, and washer/dryer in Park, Barton, Aikbeck, & Elderbeck, Lodge and Beckside. Living rooms have TV & DVD bathrooms with bath/shower WC, basin, shaver point, and heated towel rail. Electric fires and heaters are provided. One free cot and high chair available if pre-booked. There are patio areas with picnic table. Maximum of two pets are allowed if kept under control, in Redwood, Cherry Barton Lode, Park Lodge & Woodside houses. PLEASE NOTE pets must be kept out of bedrooms and not allowed on furniture at all times, we charge £16.00 per pet each week. Credit/Debit card details are taken on arrival as a cleaning /breakages deposit and will be destroyed the week following your holiday, providing there are no charges to be made. Properties available for occupation from 3pm on day of arrival and must be vacated by 10am on the day of departure Holiday Cottages Ullswater PARKLANDS (Fri - Fri) Five Bedroomed. Lovely detached bungalow with lower ground level. Accommodating ten people. Standing in its own south facing garden, in an elevated position, with views of Lake Ullswater and situated on the edge of the Holiday Park grounds with barbeque. Ground Floor: Lounge with feature stone fireplace and balcony with Lake view, kitchen/dining room, utility room, bathroom with bath and shower cubicle, WC and basin. three bedrooms - one king size with Lake views and en-suite shower, WC and basin. two twin rooms each with hand basin. Lower Ground Floor: Accessed by spiral staircase - One double bedroom with en-suite shower cubicle, WC and basin, one twin bedroom and a bathroom with separate shower, WC and basin. Games room. BLANTON HOUSE (Coach House and Stable Cottage) Situated in the centre of the popular Lakeside Village of Pooley Bridge, opposite the Sun Inn. Originally the building served as stables for the Sun Inn, which is just 400 metres from the shore of Ullswater. On renovation we have retained the original sash windows and country charm. Comprising of two properties with communal front door leading to hallway with separate entrances, making it ideal for 2 families sharing. Use of facilities at Park Foot Holiday Park and launching facilities: 1 mile away. Both have barbeques & spacious shared garden, with children's play area. Sorry no pets allowed and no smoking.

WOODSIDE COTTAGES Numbers 1 - 5 (Sat - Sat) Two Bedroomed These five houses are situated above the caravan park at the foot of Barton Fell with views of Lake Ullswater and the surrounding Lakeland Fells. They can each accommodate up to six people with one double and one twin Bedroom. The double bedroom has a washbasin and looks onto Barton Fell. The twin bedroom opens out onto a veranda looking towards the Lake. There is a sofa bed in the living area for the fifth and sixth persons. All have shared barbeques. They are non-smoking. Pets allowed.

BECKSIDE (Sat - Sat) Three Bedroomed Stone Built, with wheelchair access. Situated in the centre of the Park next to the Shop and tennis court with bar and restaurant opposite. Accommodating six people, one double en-suite/wet room. The other two bedrooms have twin beds, bathroom with shower cubicle WC and basin. Sorry, no pets and no smoking allowed.

Caravan Sales When we have static caravans for sale, all have individual features e.g. elevated positions, or individually screened with trees, and some with views of Lake Ullswater, new caravans for sale start from £25,000 up to £50,000.

We occasionally have pitches available for second hand caravans ranging from 28'- 37' from £10,000. to £25,000.

The park is open from the first week in March (weather permitting) up until the first week in November.

Caravan rents start from £1650 - £2030. Rates are approximately £190.00, invoiced in June and electric is extra, according to meter readings and charged at the end of the season. Insurance is available from Jardine Lloyd Thompson on a New for Old basis and charged in October.

Bottled gas exchanged. No subletting allowed, friends and relatives accepted. Free Lake Access to all static caravan owners and membership to club house.

Park Foot Access Statement

Public transport by bus is available to Pooley Bridge from Penrith. There is a 10mph speed limit throughout the park on mostly tarmac roads with speed bumps. We have Parking outside Reception with no designated disabled parking; there is a ramp to reception. No signs in Braille and none of our staff are trained in Deaf awareness. Assistance dogs are welcome to the park. All camping/caravanning and Self Catering units have parking alongside. Disabled showers and toilets are available. A key with returnable deposit is obtained from Reception for the Lakeside disabled toilet facility. Most of the park is on a hill but there are some flat camping areas. Most mobile phones networks work around the park but in any case there is a public telephone outside Reception. The clubhouse has ramped access, there is a ramp to the club toilets but steps to the Games room. The mini-market has wheelchair access and is on ground level throughout. Our Self-Catering properties, we have one with wheelchair access. All others are located on the hillside. Some have 2 - 3 steps into the properties and are on one level. Please ask for honest advice and suitability for your individual needs.
