OLD FASHIONED CARAVANNING AND CAMPING WITH A RELAXED TRADITIONAL FEEL AT ITS BEST
At Luckford Wood we invite you to pitch your tent where you want [within designated areas]. We don't have rows of tents and caravans.
At Luckford Wood we offer our guests wash room facilities with free hot water for 12 showers and 12 washhand basins, we offer you basic toiletries, as well as free hot water for the washing up stations which are undercover and lit for your convenience.
The family park is fringed by woodland, sheltered with many secluded areas. It is with in easy reach the Jurassic Coast, beautiful sandy beaches, woodland and forest walks. Numerous recreational facilities are all waiting for you and are all within easy reach of the site.

Luckford Wood Caravan and Camping Park is hidden-away nestling between Heath Land to the North, Woodland and Forest, to the South, and within reach of the coast, which can be reached by walking across country from the Park or by road. - just 4 miles from Lulworth.
You will be surrounded by an abundance of wildlife with woods and grassland all around. Why not just laze the time away listening to the call of the birds singing. If you are lucky watch the deer grazing.
Many magnificent old ancestral homes, country houses, and gardens abound. The world famous Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door are a must for those interested in geology and magnificent scenery. Or perhaps just enjoy the peace and quiet at Warborrow Bay, and marvel at the deserted village of Tynham. One can sample the delights of Swanage, Dorchester and Weymouth or the thrill and excitment of visiting Monkey World, the Tank Museum and the Swanage Steam Railway.
For those all important provisions there are Supermarkets in Wareham and further a field Swanage and Poole with convenience stores in all villages Wool, Stoborough, Sandford and Carey.

We have a great choice of pubs, restaurants, small hotels, cafes, bars which meet all tastes and all within a reasonable distance.
Bike hire, trekking, outward bound courses, deer staking, zorbing, clay pigeon shooting, gliding are all close by.
Well behaved groups of polite courteous young people, families and friends and individuals are all most welcome.
We welcome rallies throughout the year.
Pets are welcomed. We just ask that they are kept on a lead and either walked on our internal dog walking lane to the north of the park or off site.
AMERICAN RV - CARAVANS MOTOR HOMES Are all very welcome at Luckford Wood where the site is level on a well drained gravely soil. Easy access is via a wide splayed entrance.
Children can play in the full view of caravans or tent, but must always be under the supervision of their parents.
For 25 years we at Luckford Wood Caravan and Camping Park has allowed traditional open CAMP FIRES [conditions apply]. We supply the kindling wood, a fire basket/brazier and a water container for your safety, all you need are long balmy evenings to enjoy the delights of your stay.
We supply you with all the wood you need for your nightly camp fire. You may well see shadows and reflections dancing in the night sky, smoke wafting, embers drifting by in the night breeze on their way up into the stars, along with thoughts of a beautiful day.
Camp Fires make sure you bring an axe and saw and enjoy the delight of gathering and cutting your wood for your fire.
COSTS will vary from typically £2.00 pppn based on 10 people with 5 tents pn.
To £7.00 pppn for 2 people sharing one tent pn. Feel free to call to confirm.
You have as much as you need. You collect the wood from the store. You use the firebox provided, this must be kept off the ground using bricks to prevent scorching the grass. Please put back what is not used. We can usually supply lighting paper and kindling wood. You might like to bring a saw and axe in case its needed. All wood is to be broken up in the wood store compound NOT AT or BY your TENT. Be careful of NAILS and SPLINTERS. Don't scorch the grass keep the Fire Box off of the ground on top of bricks. Collect ALL Firewood during daylight hours. Don't damage trees. Don't climb on to the wood pile. Be careful do not handle HOT ASH. FLOATING HOT EMBERS can burn holes in tents, manage your fire to prevent this, do not overload the fire box. WIND. Always build the fire on the eastern side of your tent, smoke should then be blown away from your camp. Keep tents and belongings a safe distance away from the the fire. Try to have the opening of your tent to the South or East not open to the prevailing wind. WATER keep a large amount of water close at hand. Do not allow the grass to be scorched or burnt. Keep your car / gas bottles and other belongings a safe distance away. ALL PERSONS CHOOSING OR INVOLVED WITH HAVING A CAMP FIRE / BARBEQUE WILL DO SO AT THEIR OWN RISK.
They will be responsible for any loss property and or life caused directly or indirectly by their actions to others campers and their property and surrounding neighbouring properties.

Cooking is so easy using our braziers which in turn contains your camp fire. You will experience the true meaning of caravanning and camping appreciating the aroma of the wood being burnt, the light the sounds, the peace and enjoyment, knowing you are snug and warm as you sit dreaming around the log fire.
New for 2006 a water ring main around the park which brings fresh drinking water to within easy reach of most pitches. Many pitches have the opportunity to hook up to own individual mains water and electricity.
Our current modest facilities have free hot water to about 12 showers and 10 washhand basins.
All pitches can have their own barbecue.

The setting is rural and uncommercialised. Luckford Wood Farm Caravan and Camping Park has many hideaway and secluded areas as well as secluded sunny glades. Many areas are tree-lined, other areas are level meadowland. The site nestles in the heart of Dorset countryside. The park has low level lighting at night for your convenience and safety.
Luckford Wood is ideally situated just North of Lulworth Cove and Durdle Door, it is the closest Caravan and Camping Park in this locality to the coastline and it's situated in an area listed as being in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The entrance to the Park is good and can be accessed via the A352, B3070 or B3071.
Camp Bestival 2009 24th 25th 26th July 2009 at Lulworth Castle Luckford Wood House and Luckford Wood Caravan and Camping Park is a short distance by road about 3 mile about 5 minutes drive from the festival and then return to sleep under the stars by your Camp Fire.
Hook Up Points Up to 60 points giving 10 to 16 amps are usually available and can be reserved. Each hook up point has a low level security lighting for your safety when walking at night time.
Designated dog walking lane To the North of the site there is a dog walking lane and stream. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Luckford Wood is a secluded quiet, uncommercialised park situated in natural surroundings, making Luckford Wood an ideal location to unwind and relax.

Luckford Wood is a quiet site. We ask that Noise levels are restricted and contained to within each pitch after 9.30pm thus respecting those other campers and caravanners close by.
Secluded adult only areas can usually be reserved.
Family Members - Breakfast Campers and caravanners can even enjoy an sumptuous breakfast at Luckford Wood Farmhouse sampling the delights from our extensive menu. We invite you to eat at a time to suit yourselves and eat what you want - either in the dining room, conservatory or garden. (Reservation only) Family members/friends who are camping may join family and friends staying at Luckford Wood House for breakfast.
Many fine country and town pubs and restaurants which cater for all tastes can be found a short distance from Luckford Wood Farmhouse and Luckford Wood Caravan and Camping Park.
Indian, Chinese, Italian and Fish and Chip Suppers can be delivered to your tent or caravan by local suppliers. (By prior arrangement only). Orders to be made well in advance, ask for details. Suitable for groups, conditions apply.
A Hog/Lamb Roast/BBQ with canopy can be hired at Luckford Wood. This is suitable for groups of families or friends, conditions apply. A pig or lamb must be ordered/purchased well in advance of your arrival at Luckford Wood. We can prepare the meat to be cooked and cook it for you while you are out during the day and then carve it for you in the evening or you can undertake the cooking yourselves.

Services We can collect your van from the site where you are staying and put it into store, and return it next season to the site of your choice. Or we
can position it on site at Luckford Wood (if pitches are available) and then put it back into store when required. We are open all year for storage.
Inflammable Liquids and Gases Gas bottles and valuables must be removed prior to storage.
Insurance A copy of your current insurance policy and confirmation that your insurers know that your property is being stored will be required prior to your caravan/boat etc being put into storage.
Location We are centrally positioned Weymouth, Dorchester and Poole and Bournemouth. We are approximately 10 miles from Swanage and 5 miles from Lulworth.

Security Measures There are a number of gates that are locked leading to the storage yard and compound including other security measures. A CCTV system is proposed to enable you to view your van, boat etc at any time via our internet link.
