Do I have to buy insurance from my static site - although I can find it cheaper elsewhere?!

I own a static caravan sited on a site in Northumberland.
The insurance is due for renewal and I can obtain a policy (new for old) which is almost £100 cheaper than the one my site owner
insists I should buy from him.
Is this legal?

Hi Macca, I would have thought that legally there wouldn't be any reason why you should have to renew your insurance with the landlord particularly as it seems he's only acting as a Broker (in it for the commission no doubt), that said, I guess it depends on how far you want to stick to your guns and whether the landlord is likely to get the hump & either make it difficult to for you to stay there or find some excuse to remove you from the site. I guess that you must have a contract with the landlord that you signed up to check the fine print, I'm sure that as long as you fulfill your statutory duty to have insurance there's now't he can do. Good luck.. Ozzy
