Hi All, I'm planning a trip to Royan in France in August this year. I'm thinking of stopping overnight halfway down which is going to be near Le Mans. I'm hoping just to use the Motorway Services but would like some comments, good or bad, about these services. I've also heared of Municipal Sites so any advise on these will also be appriciated.

Hi Steven,
We often stay on services if there is no open site near to the services.
keep the van hitched and put your hitchlock and wheel lock/clamp on.
if your windows don't have push button catches and just twist to open you might want to consider drilling a small hole into them through the main block and then insert small nail/pins to stop them being moved.
The main thing then is park near other caravans or motorhomes there is safety in numbers.
If there is a site near then use it.

Don't, do it, too noisy and too risky! Plan ahead and use a site where you will have services to the van and be much safer.

Most French towns and larger villages have municipal sites that are basic but cheap. Far better than risking motorway services.
