does anyone know the legality of park owner moving us to another pitch due to redevelopment on area of ground where our pitch is just now? What if we do not like the pitches we are offered?

Assuming you're on a seasonal pitch and not a permanent static. Surely when you signed on to the site, re. fees etc. there must have been a written contract of 'lease' ?

I think you may find that the owner may be able to move you after giving reasonable notice as they seem to have done, ask them where they propose to move you to and discuss with them if you're not too keen on the pitch. Unless you have something in a contract in your favour, I don't see you having a fight. The main thing I would make sure is that you don't have to pay the re-location fees and your van is moved safely and without any damage.
