When on site do you ever wonder how many Amps you are actually using and why the wifes hairdryer blows the fuse while the kettle is boiling!

A simple calculation is Amps equals Watts divided by Volts. Therefore, if you have a 1000 Watt kettle, and a 230 Volt supply, you must allow for 4.3 Amps to be drawn when the kettle is in use.

1000 / 230 = 4.3

Hope this is of assistance.

I came across a wee app for my phone - this allows you to add the equipment in watts and u can set the size of hook up. It shows you a visual line of amps used
