If you are looking for a busy day out head straight to Magna, a converted steelworks filled with award-winning exhibitions and activities for the children. A more child friendly adventure is a visit to the activity-packed Dome Leisure Centre.

The place to go if you have a passion for music, sport and culture – you’ll find some great nightlife, bustling shopping centre and family attractions in Doncaster, Rotherham, Barnsley and Sheffield.

Doncaster is an historic market town where Norman castles, Regency buildings and a rich railway and horse racing heritage that is still thriving as well as a modern metropolis complete with a variety of shopping and even some nightlife.

Yet along side these attractions you’ll find some of UK's finest Gothic architecture, museums and Victorian monuments and you can test your nerves in the city's most haunted public house, 17th Century Cawbrook. Alternatively, take a walk on the wild side at the 70 acre Yorkshire Wildlife Park and meet everything from lemurs to lions. Just make sure you don’t touch – the animals can bite!

South Yorkshire is also home to the Peak Districts where caravanners can wander for miles taking in the sites of pretty moorlands, rolling hills and dales to the flower filled scented meadows and leafy forests. It cannot be argued that the Peak District is home to some of the country's finest scenery, that anyone would be crazy to miss.
