Tucked in-between the English Channel and Bristol Channel, the South West of England is a beautiful place to go on a caravan or camping holiday. The picturesque views, rolling hills, colourful scenery and the fact that it has the longest coastline of England's regions helps to make the South West a favourite among caravanners and home to some of the most popular caravan sites in the whole of the UK. Those in Cornwall are often particularly popular.
Comprising of Bristol, Gloucestershire, Somerset, Dorset, Wiltshire, Devon, Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, the South West is best known for its production of Cheddar cheese, which originated in the Somerset village of Cheddar, for Devon cream teas, crabs, Cornish pasties, and for cider. Durdle Door in Dorset is also part of the Jurassic Coast, England's only natural World Heritage Site, where as Wiltshire houses Salisbury Cathedral the tallest in the UK at 123 metres.
Welcome to the home of Stonehenge, magnificent Bath Spa and quaint honey coloured Cotswold’s villages. Beautiful Cornish beaches, gently rolling Devonshire hills and miles of lush English countryside make our landscape heaven for anyone who loves the great outdoors, to set up base in the caravan or even go on long country walks, hikes and cycle rides. Gloucestershire is famed for its Cathedral, where many of the scenes from Harry Potter’s Hogwarts were filmed, Chedworth Roman Villa and Prinknash Abbey Bird and Deer park which combines wildlife with a monastic estate between the new Abbey and the old Abbey, once the hunting lodge of the Abbots of Gloucester and King Henry VIII.
The South West is also well known as being the home of the Eden Project, Aardman Animations, the Glastonbury Festival, the Bristol International Balloon Fiesta, trip hop music and also Cornwall's surfing beaches.
