Quaint villages and market towns grace this landscape perfect for a little wander. You can take the Weardale Railway in Stanhope to take in the sites if walking this vast terrain is not for you. A woodland stroll will take you to the head of the popular High Force Waterfall and its 70ft drop, take a walk down to the end of this amazing waterfall and go for a picnic once you have worked up an appetite.

For some fresh sea air the Durham Heritage Coast with is beaches, cliffs, wildlife and coastal paths are an ideal base for your caravan. Hit the beach in Seaham stroll along the harbour, promenade or visit the spa.  Sport enthusiasts will enjoy a trip to Chester-le-Street – and the Emirates International cricket ground to watch a match.
