Essex is the home county northeast of London. This historic county is considered the oldest by many scholars, has beautiful landscapes, speckled with picturesque towns and villages which make an ideal place to take the caravan, rent a static caravan or even pitch up a tent. Essex over the years has inspired and influenced many well-known artists and gardeners to make masterpieces. There are many secret and spectacular gardens, nature reserves and country parks to wander and discover, brilliant for taking that perfect picture. However, it’s not all strawberry fields forever; Essex is also home to over 350 miles of vast coastline, quiet, isolated beaches and lively seaside towns. There are many attractions that you simply must see whilst on a caravanning visit to Essex, one of the most interesting we found was the Cressing Temple Barns. This once ancient farmstead was built during the 13th century, supposedly taking its unusual name from the medieval monks of the Knights Templar. Why not get there today and try to unravel the mystery yourself?
