Berkshire is one of the oldest counties in England, although it contains no cities it is packed full of popular towns, villages and country side for you to tour your motorhomes and touring caravan. The River Thames meanders through this county allowing caravanners to site their touring caravans on the riverside as they move through various locations along the river, each with fantastic views as you go fishing, boating or walking.
Reading is easily accessible from the Thames rich in Heritage but also offering an opportunity to do some holiday shopping. There is however more to Reading than just shopping; it is also home to Forbury Gardens for those after a more horticultural excursion, or you can discover the ruins of Reading Abbey and sample a taste of Reading’s history.
The Savill Gardens are also a popular excursion with its 35 Acres of ornamental gardens that change with the seasons; each with a different green fingered story to tell. Day trips can also be made to the famous Ascot Racecourse or Eton College where you can take a tour through this historical building that has educated great names; including the likes of Prince William and Prince Harry.
